Click on the Apple menu and
choose System Preferences.
Click on the Show
(or Configure) pop-up menu and choose your
network port (Built-In Ethernet, Internal Modem, etc…).
Click the Proxies
tab. Click once to place a check mark in the box next to Web Proxy (HTTP).
Enter the following address
in the Web Proxy Server box: libproxy.fhsu.edu
Tab to the next box and enter
the following port number: 3279
Click Apply Now,
and then close the Network window.
Before continuing, you must establish
an active Internet connection.
- Open Internet Explorer. (You will receive an error if you try to access non-FHSU Web sites - see the Notes below.)
- To access a resource, go to: www.fhsu.edu/forsyth_lib/
Click Research Resources, and then browse to select the resource of your choice.
- If the resource you chose is a restricted resource, a gray Enter username and password for libproxy.fhsu.edu pop-up dialog box will appear. Use your TigerTracks login to enter the resource. Your TigerTracks login must be activated before it can be used. If you have not yet activated it, or if you need to recover your password, you may do so by going to: tigertracks.fhsu.edu/register/
Note: Students must be currently enrolled in order to use restricted library resources.
Note: Your login information will be retained for any restricted resources accessed while Internet Explorer is open. If you close Internet Explorer and then reopen it, you may be prompted for your username and password again.
Note: You must remove the check mark next to the Web Proxy (HTTP) box to access non-FHSU Web sites (follow steps 1-7 again, and remove the check mark in step 4).
If you have problems…
If this is the first time you have attempted to use off-campus access to FHSU Library Resources and you are experiencing problems, please contact the CTC HelpDesk before performing further troubleshooting. This will allow us to verify that the permissions for your TigerTracks account have been set up to allow library resources access and to provide any further assistance as needed.
If you have accessed library resources in the past, and are performing this setup again, review these procedures and check to make
sure you have followed all steps as instructed and that the configuration
script address has been entered correctly. Also, make sure
your username and password have been entered correctly when trying
to access a resource.
If you still encounter problems after reviewing these procedures,
see the Troubleshooting Suggestions for Accessing FHSU
Library Resources document located at www.fhsu.edu/ctc/helpdesk/libreshelp.shtml
