How can I access my
Lotus Notes files using the LN Client on another
computer?
You will need to save your user.id file on
a disk. Go to the other computer and log in using your username (ID) by
selecting File, Security and then Switch ID. Browse to select the user.id
file on your disk and click Open. You will be prompted
to enter your password.

Where can I find my
user.id file?
Your user.id file can be found in the c:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes\Data
folder on a PC. On a Macintosh,
the best way to find it is to search for
any *.id files. If more than one person uses the
LN Client on your computer, there may be multiple user.id files. If so, the files may be named yourname.id instead
of user.id. It is always a good idea to keep a backup of
your user.id file.

How can I get a copy of the LN
Client installed on my computer at work?
Have your departmental secretary submit a CTC Request for Services to the Network and Servers section. If you already have an account, simply request to have the Client software installed and include all necessary information.

Can I access LN from off campus using the Client program?
The
Lotus Notes Client program cannot be used
through a non-FHSU Internet connection. You must
connect through FHSU's VPN (Virtual Private Network) to use the LN Client from off
campus.
Browser
access through iNotes may be done using ANY Internet connection. This is the recommended method for accessing your Lotus notes e-mail and calendar from off campus.
If you
use Workflow applications or have other special needs that require
use of the LN Client software from off-campus, you should consider requesting a University laptop with VPN access.
