Accessing Lotus Notes from Off Campus

The instructions below explain how to access Lotus Notes using iNotes through an Internet browser.

  1. Establish an active Internet connection.

  2. Open Internet Explorer and go to www.fhsu.edu (the FHSU home page). (You may attempt to use other Internet browsers, but they are not recommended. Use of Internet Explorer is supported by Lotus Notes.)

  3. Click on Faculty/Staff/Admin, and then click on E-mail (Lotus Notes).

Note:  If you are not listed in a "group" mailing list on Lotus Notes (such as the Faculty, Staff, or
Retired lists), you may need to use a special Web page address to access your e-mail. We also recommend all Lotus Notes users be in at least one group list so they will receive system maintenance notices. Please contact the CTC HelpDesk for further assistance.

  4. Type in your Lotus Notes User Name and Password (both entries are case sensitive). If you do not know your username or password, contact the CTC HelpDesk for assistance.

  5. Your mail file will open, displaying links to your mail and calendar folders. At this point, you can create a bookmark or shortcut to this page for future use.

  6. We strongly recommend changing your LN Internet password at your first opportunity. Instructions for doing so are located at: www.fhsu.edu/ctc/helpdesk/changing_ln_passwords.shtml

If you have problems

Review these procedures and check to make sure you have followed all steps as instructed. If you need further assistance, call the Fort Hays State University CTC HelpDesk at (785) 628-5276 or 1-800-628-FHSU or stop by our office in Tomanek Hall, Room 113. Before calling for problem assistance, write down the steps you have done so far and any error messages you may have received.
