Transferring Files Using Your Scatcat Account

The CTC HelpDesk has released two new documents that will assist students who wish to save and retrieve files using their Scatcat accounts. Saving files on Scatcat allows the student to access them from any location with Internet access. It is also convenient to use Scatcat for keeping backup copies or for storing files that are too large to fit on a floppy disk.

The documents are titled Transferring Files to and from Your FHSU Scatcat Account Using WS_FTP and Transferring Files to and from Your FHSU Scatcat Account Using Transmit. They are located in the E-Mail and Web Pages section on the CTC HelpDesk Web site. WS_FTP may be used on Windows systems and Transmit may be used on Macintosh systems. They can be used for transferring any type of file (including Web page files).

Students can store up to 20 MB in the e-mail inbox and 60 MB in the account (including all Web pages, personal files, and e-mail messages no longer in the inbox). Files saved in the My Documents folder using computers in on-campus labs that require the TigerTracks login are also stored in the Scatcat account.

New Web Page Procedures for Scatcat Users

We have recently updated our Creating and Publishing Web Pages Using Your FHSU Student Scatcat Account document. Some older steps were removed and new steps were created for using Dreamweaver MX and Adobe GoLive 6.0. This document is located in the E-Mail and Web Pages section on the CTC HelpDesk Web site.
