|
| |
| How do I
logon to the computers in the CTC Tomanek Hall Computer Labs? |
| |
| You must logon with
your Scatcat ID and password. This will allow you to save documents
to your own specific folder which can be accessed by you in
other labs across campus. This will also save any of your Internet
Explorer bookmarks so that you may access these links from other
labs across campus. |
| |
| What do
I do if the computer I'm using in the lab has problems? |
| |
| Check with the lab
monitor on duty in TH127. They will be happy to provide assistance.
If the monitor cannot resolve the problem, he/she will report
it to the appropriate staff and you will need to move to another
computer. Never attempt to correct the problem yourself. |
| |
| What do

| |
| Again, check with
the lab monitor on duty in TH127. They will be happy to provide
assistance. Never attempt to correct the problem yourself. |
| |
| Can
I print with clean paper? |
| |
| Many
of the printouts in the Tomanek Hall Computer Labs are rough
drafts and are eventually thrown away. To keep the costs of
paper to a minimum, the Tomanek Hall Computer Labs printers
frequently use recycled paper; however, clean paper is available.
If you need clean paper to print a good copy of your document,
check with the lab monitor on duty before sending your file
to the printer. One of the lab monitors will be happy to assist
you. See the lab monitor for details. |
| |
| May I load
my own software on the computers in the CTC Tomanek Hall Computer
Labs? |
| |
| No. We do not allow
anyone access to load or delete software to any of the computers
in our labs. If a class needs specific software available for
lab use, have the class instructor send a Request for Computing
Services to the Servers and Desktop Systems area of the CTC.
The instructor will also need to bring a copy of the software
to this area. |
| |
| Where can
I get help if I cannot retrieve file(s) from my disk? |
| |
| Take the disk to
the lab monitor on duty in TH127. The monitor will attempt to
recover the file(s) by using Norton Utilities; however, please
be aware that sometimes disks are damaged or corrupted so badly
that it may be impossible to recover your file(s). If this is
the case, you may need to re-key your document. |
