Information |
Summer
Semester |
You
must be enrolled in 3 or more hours to work up to 20 hours
per week. If you are not enrolled for the summer, a full-time
(35-40 hours per week) position may be available if you are
registered for the fall semester. Closed
weekends and holidays. Some
evening hours are required. Summer lab hours

Skills
Required |
Skills
required include the operation of IBM compatible personal
computers and Mac computers. Must have working knowledge of:
Windows, MS Office products such as MS Word, MS Excel, and
PowerPoint, Pagemaker, Adobe PhotoShop, Internet Explorer,
Netscape, various student e-mail packages, surfing and searching
the web, FTP, WordPerfect, Lotus Notes, SAS, SPSS, CMS, and
Norton Utilities. Must be able to conduct informal student
e-mail and Internet Basics workshops. Must also have a basic
working knowledge of laser printers, scanners, and other lab
peripherals. Must be willing to learn how to use all of the
software and equipment available in the labs. Must be able
to understand and follow both written and oral instructions.
Must have excellent communication skills and must be able
to enforce lab policies. |

Position
Duties and Responsibilities |
The
student lab monitor should be able to assist individual lab
users with questions regarding use of the available software
and equipment in the academic setting of the labs. Request
supplies, such as paper, toner cartridges, paper towels, cleaning
supplies, etc. Must be proficient in all of the above mentioned
software and its use in the academic setting. Must report
equipment malfunctions using Lotus Notes and be able to describe
the problem accurately. Monitor all lab equipment and lab
functions and report problems to the supervisor on duty. Must
be prompt, honest, courteous, trustworthy, and dependable. |

(Tomanek Hall 127).

Complete
the application and return it - along with a resume,
3 or more work references,
and a copy of your transcript in
a sealed envelope marked ATTN: Viv Zimmerman.
- Turn
in completed application to the secretary in Tomanek Hall
101 or one of the lab monitors.
