CTELT • About CTELT • Mission
The mission and role of the Center for Teaching Excellence and Learning Technologies (CTELT) is to improve the overall institutional effectiveness, quality, and creativity of Fort Hays State University by fostering the growth and development of individual faculty and staff. CTELT recognizes that institutional change begins with the multiple roles and responsibilities faculty must fulfill in the constant remaking of the structure, culture and needs of the higher education community. Accordingly, CTELT’s programs, resources, services and training have been shaped and continually adapt to not only the interests of individual faculty and communities of learning, but also larger department, college and institutional needs.
To achieve our mission, CTELT will provide programs, services, resources and support to the Fort Hays State University (FHSU) learning community. CTELT pursues the following goals: • To support FHSU strategic planning and academic initiatives • To promote teaching excellence by engaging faculty in self-reflection and peer sharing of their best practice across disciplines • To develop programs and implement services that support all faculty members in different disciplines • To create opportunities to enhance diverse talents and contributions of individual faculty members • To disseminate research and best practice in teaching and learning • To support curriculum and course development, production and delivery • To support effective use of instructional technology tools to enhance teaching and learning • To provide faculty and staff quality media products • To provide faculty and staff excellent media service • To pursue grants and contracts to develop learning technologies and products • To develop and implement best practices and procedures within CTELT
