| Mashup Tool - YouTube |
YouTube
changed a part of their API (Application Programming Interface), so
that the search feature of Blackboard's Mashup tool no longer
communicates properly with YouTube's servers. Existing mashups (Flickr
Photo and SlideShare Presentation) still work. |
|
Access
YouTube directly, then copy the Embed code from the video you wish to
display in your course. Please click on the link below to view how to
embed You Tube Videos into Blackboard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGh9n1yyCdI |

Work Around or Solution |
| Students Unable to Open Documents |
When
students download files from some Blackboard courses, they receive an
error message: "the specified object was not found; you do not have
permission to view content." Those document links are pointing to the
original course. The instructors have access to files in the original
course, but the students do not have permission to view them. |
|
The
work-around for instructors is to re-upload the associated files. If the
error message appear in most of the course area, contact CTELT for assistance. |

Work Around or Solution |
| Users Unable to Open Documents |
The
use of special characters (i.e. “#”, “+”. “!”) for a file name can
potentially cause this problem in Blackboard (Assignment#1. doc, for
example). The problem applies to files uploaded or attached by both
instructors and students. |
|
Please follow these guidelines to name a file: Use only letters, numbers and underscores (_) in file names. Don't
use spaces, commas, pound signs (#), question marks, equal signs,
dashes or any other special characters in your file names. File names should be 60 characters or less in length. |

Journals - Index Panel
|
For
individual (private) Journals, students will only see their current
week's or month's journal entries, and they do not see an Index Panel
for selecting a previous week's or month's entries to view.
|
|
To make previous entries visible to the students, the instructor can
comment on them. Group journals do not experience this issue. This issue
is targeted for a fix in a future release of Blackboard. |
