Do you know that there are books, videotapes, and CD-ROMs on instructional technology and e-learning at CTELT. These materials will be available for faculty and staff to check out for two weeks. CTELT Resource Center is located in Forsyth Library 039. We plan to have it open to FHSU community in fall 2005.
Designing Effective Instruction (Morrison, G. R., Ross, S. M., & Kemp, J. E., New York: John Wiley & Sons, 2001). This book offers an overview of instructional design process including identifying instructional problems, analyzing learners and context, sequencing and developing instructional materials, and developing evaluation instruments. The “Getting Started” section at the beginning of each chapter provides a real-world scenario to present the concepts to be discussed in the chapter.
Enhancing Learning with Laptops in the Classroom (Nilson, L.B. & Weaver, B. E., San Francisco: Jossey-Bass, 2005). This new book is focused on how instructors used laptops in the classroom. In the book you will read stories written by professors from different disciplines at Clemson University about how they used laptops in the classroom for effective teaching.
Lessons from the Cyberspace Classroom (Palloff, R. M., & Pratt, K., San Francisco: Jossey-Bass, 2001). This book is full of examples and tips from actual online courses. It is a good comprehensive reference for faculty to hone their skills as more effective online instructors.
