to offer some new programs through which we hope to improve our services.
In order to make our training opportunities accessible to the entire FHSU community, we have been designing online tutorials or Webshops for the two commonly used software - Blackboard and Dreamweaver. You can learn to use these tools at your own pace anytime and anywhere you have access to the Internet. Although this is a big ongoing project, some tools are ready for you to check out at

Access to information is not a problem in the digital age, but mining gold from enormous amount of information might be time-consuming. We are planning to develop our resources on instructional technology, distance education, and teaching excellence for the FHSU community. We will share with you through CTELT e-newsletter, CTELT Resource Center, and CTELT Web site.
Teaching is an art. Although there is no handbook that provides precise instructions, teaching can be facilitated through various processes. CTELT will be coordinating some peer sharing programs such as guest speakers and roundtable discussions in the near future. All of you are invited to participate in these activities. Schedules will be sent to faculty and staff through Lotus Notes mail.
As FHSU is going to become a “wireless campus,” we are very excited for this new opportunity to challenge ourselves to grow professionally as well as to share expertise and offer support for the FHSU community in this process. Our belief in mobile learning is echoed in what Ellen Wagner, senior Director of Global Education Solutions at Macromedia, wrote: “Whether we like it or not, whether we are ready for it or not, mobile learning represents the next step in a long tradition of technology-mediated learning.”
We look forward to the new academic year and working with you. If you have any suggestions or comments, you are welcome to share with us by calling at (785) 628-4194 or e-mailing at CTELTmail@fhsu.edu.
