Two-Way Interactive Television. IPTV (interactive television--two-way video and two-way audio) combines voice and visual technologies to closely resemble face-to-face classroom instruction. Course locations for IPTV are located on community college campuses, high school campuses and adult center locations.
Western Instructional Network (WIN). This telephone-based audio system allows instructors on the FHSU campus to simultaneously teach classes on the campuses of community colleges.
TELENET 2. Is a desktop video conferencing system using ISDN for connectivity. Each location is equipped with two-way voice and video communication.
CTELT is involved in the design of the following types of Virtual College courses:
On-Line Courses. Uses the World Wide Web & Blackboard for posting interactive information and the internet for collaboration between students and faculty.
Teleclasses. Taped lectures of FHSU professors. Many times they are frequently combined with e-mail and other technology deliveries.
CD-ROM Courses. Uses interactive CD-ROMs containing large amounts of audio, video, graphics and text. Many of these courses are linked to e-mail and the internet.
Multimedia Courses. These courses use a variety of synchronous and asynchronous delivery methods to emphasize interaction and collaborative learning between faculty and students. They may use any of the following modes of delivery: audiotape, videotape, computer conferencing, IPTV, TELENET 2, teleconferences, World Wide Web, Blackboard, DVDs,listservs, e-mail and printed materials.
