FHSU plan for severe weather conditions
affecting classes and administrative offices
In the event severe weather conditions threaten
to disrupt class and/or administrative office schedules,
the primary concern will be the safety and welfare of the
students, faculty and staff. In such situations, the following
plan will be initiated. The President has three options:
Announce the University is closed
and is under a Declaration of Inclement Weather. With
this Declaration, all operations will be curtailed except
the power plant, university police, university farm,
grounds department, campus switchboard and the residence
halls. All other employees will be granted "time
off"
with pay. The University is open, but classes
are canceled. All employees who are unable to be at
work will be charged leave time for working hours missed.
Making up missed time is not an option.
The University is open with classes as
usual. Employees unable to be at work will be charged
leave time for working hours missed. Making up missed
time is not an option.
Announcements related to any of
the three options will be released to news media through
the Office of University Relations. Weather decisions
affecting the daytime operations will be made around
6:30 a.m. If weather conditions will affect evening activities
at the University, this announcement will be made around
