Making the transition to FHSU is exciting! To ensure your success, you will want to be prepared for the differences between high school and college. You will also want to take advantage of tools and resources FHSU has to offer to help you be your best.
Knowing the differences between disability services in high school and college is key! We have developed a transition guide to help you understand it all including the differences in who initiates accommodations, parental involvement in the accommodation process and important confidentiality information. Other information included focuses on general differences between high school and college in regards to studying, tests and grading, time management and getting involved.
Have you ever said to yourself, "Where did all the time go?" Check out the Kelly Center's time management worksheet to find out how your 168-hour week is spent. Visit the Kelly Center to access free tutoring for general education courses and to tap into their academic success workshops, tools, and personal counseling. Need help with a writing assignment? Located in the basement of Forsyth Library, the Writing Center offers a computer lab and trained consultants to help you tackle writing assignments. From choosing a topic to perfecting your documentation style, the writing center consultants can help you to strengthen your writing skills and prepare you to take your place in the world.
