| On October 28, 2004 the Department of Economics
and Finance, in conjunction with the American Democracy Project,
sponsored a lecture on an event that transformed American democracy:
The Great Depression. This lecture on deflation and recovery
in the 1930s was presented by Dr. Frank Steindl, author of "Understanding
Economic Recovery in the 1930s," "Monetary Interpretations
of the Great Depression," and numerous articles. Dr. Steindl
has also served as Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of
Cleveland, Economist and Counsel to the U.S. Senate Budget Committee,
Visiting Professor at the University of Munich, Konrad Zuse
Gastprofessor at the University of Bamberg, and Regents' Professor
of Economics at Oklahoma State University. |
