FHSU Economics, Finance and Accounting graduates - out in the world
|Rocky Baalmann (2008)
|I work with cattle payments, cash sales, account reconciliation, journal entries, capital projects, accounts payable, and record retention. At FHSU, I ran indoor and outdoor track and field, was involved with Accounting club and helped with BITA Tax preparation. I participated in a three-month internship for Cargill in Plainview. Being active in sports helped me gain various social skills, teamwork skills and more. Also, by completing an internship, I was able to show Cargill how dedicated I am as an individual and it paid off when they offered me a full-time position at the end of my internship.
|Meagan M. (Schmidtberger) Wellbrock (2007)
Certified Public Accountant
Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball, Chtd.
|My duties include client management, tax preparation, bookkeeping and auditing. I use the accounting and financial knowledge gained at FHSU daily when consulting with clients, preparing tax returns and journal entries, or auditing. At FHSU, I was active in Accounting Club, Phi Kappa Phi and intramurals and was coordinator for VITA. I completed an internship with Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball, Chtd. Through these activities I gained experience dealing with individuals and in performing duties necessary to fulfill my position as a CPA.
|Addie Basye (2011)
Grant Thornton, LLP
|As I was going through the CPA testing process, I couldn’t help but think how incredibly lucky I was to have such good teachers and classes at Fort Hays. I felt more prepared than a lot of my peers and found studying to be more of a review than anything. I caught onto and retained everything very easily because I had such a good foundation at FHSU.
