Recommendation 104_044
Implementation of Recommendation 103-028:
Whereas the focus of Recommendation 103-028 is designed to ensure
academic quality and consistency in university course offerings,
and
Whereas the recommendation affects programs, departments, colleges,
and the Virtual College, and
Whereas the Faculty Senate believes that the Office of the Provost
is the most appropriate administrative body to oversee and enforce
the policy,
The Faculty Senate recommends that a census technique be developed
in the Provost's office to monitor course offerings, in conjunction
with a representative of the Faculty Senate Academic Affairs Committee,
and to notify department chairs, Deans, and the Faculty Senate
president each semester of courses that are in their third semester
offering. Notification should include a copy of Recommendation
103-028.

Recommendation 104_045
The Faculty Senate approves the report of the Ad Hoc Learner Outcomes
Committee and recommends that the university administration implement
the recommendations within the report.

Resolution 104_046
The Faculty Senate directs the University Affairs Committee to
examine the status of the Faculty Handbook, in consultation with
the FHSU-AAUP and the FHSU administration.

Resolution 104_047
WHEREAS the faculty of Fort Hays State University had expressed
a desire to the Administration to slow growth to a sustainable
and manageable rate, and
WHEREAS the Administration has responded by not starting another
new program in China or Turkey at this time,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Faculty Senate of Fort Hays State University
commends the Administration for responding to the faculty's desire
and for demonstrating a thoughtful and insightful approach to expansion.
