Resolution: November 11,1975
Dr. Adams handed out examples of advising handbooks now in use in
several of the departments and proposed the following resolution
· The Faculty Senate strongly recommends that
each department compile a handbook for distribution to all undergraduate
majors and interested persons. Such a handbook should provide
detailed information regarding required courses both in and out
of the department, suggested elective courses, and various other
information, which would aid the student in his major area.
Copies of each department’s handbook should also be made available
through the Registrar’s Office.

Dr Zakrewski moved that the following resolution be adopted
· Be it resolved that the Faculty Senate recommends
that the Academic Long Range Planning Committee investigate the
future role of Continuing education Units within the Continuing
Education Program and submit its proposals and recommendations to
the Academic Affairs Committee of the Faculty Senate.

Dr. Zakrzewski moved that the following resolution be adopted:
· Be it resolved that the Faculty Senate,
calling attention to the purpose of the mini-course program to attract
non-regularly enrolled students to college credit offerings, and
recognizing that departments can and do offer avariety of short-term
and variable credit courses for regularly enrolled students, recommends
that mini-courses be included in the Continuing Education Program
with a common number below 500, on a pass/no credit basis.

Dr. Zakrzewski proposed that the following resolution be adopted:
· Be it resolved that the Faculty
Senate of Fort Hays Kansas State College commends and o congratulates
r. Gerald Tomanek on his appointment as President of the College;
and be it futher resolved that the Faculty Senate extends to him
its fullest efforts in the pursuit of academic excellence within
the traditions of faculty participation in College governance.

That the Faculty Senate supports the concept of campus-wide systematic
student evaluation of faculty to the administered by the Dean of
Instruction

Dr Zakrzewski proposed the following resolutions 1. Resolved
that Earth Science 525, Oceanography, be approved by the Faculty
Senate on condition that the number be reduced to a lower number.
2. Resolved that Education 628, Preschool Cirriculum, be approved
by the Faculty Senate.
3. Resolved that Education 625, Teaching Rural and Urban Children,
be approved by the Faculty Senate.
4. Resolved that education 626, Cross Cultural Studies in Education,
be approved by the Faculty Senate.
5. Resolved that Speech 536, Playwriting, be approved by the Faculty
