Course covers basic theories and principles of effective listening.
Emphasis is given to therapeutic, comprehensive, critical, discrimination
VE, and appreciative listening.

The nature of geologic materials evaluated from an engineering standpoint.

261. The application of computers to solving geologic problems.

Recommendation: The Faculty Senate approved the following
course. Mathematics and Computer Science 462 Using UNIX
and C, 3 credit hours. Non-GED. Pr: MACS 261 and
Junior standing or permission.
This course is intended to provide a working knowledge of the UNIX
operating system and the associated computing environment, including
the C programming language.

course. Communication 345: Desktop Publishing and Publication
Design, 3 credit hours, non-GED. Pr: Permission. Study
and applications of desktop-publishing technology and publication
design.

Recommendation: The Faculty Senate approved the following
motion.
Given the persistency of complaints from the faculty directed towards
the present form of the graduation ceremony, epically the practice
of recognizing each graduating student individually, the President
of the Faculty Senate is directed to form an Ad Hoc Committee to
expose the possibility of revising the ceremony.

motion to reaffirm February 8, 1988 resolution.
Resolved, that Faculty Senate of Fort Hays State Univeristy go on
record as being opposed to the admission of Washburn University
in to the Kansas State Board of Regent’s System.

Recommendation: The Faculty Senate approved the following
motion to reaffirm November 17, 1987 resolution.
Resolved, the Faculty Senate of Fort Hays State Univeristy recommends
to the Board of Regents that a pre-college high school curriculum
be adopted as the minimum standard for admission to all four-year
Regent’s institutions in the State of Kansas.

motion January 10, 1989.
Contingent upon acceptance of a University Computer Literacy
Requirement MACS 163 or CIQM 101 will be accepted to
fulfill such a requirement.
