Classification/Cataloging Systems
Forsyth Library uses three main classification/cataloging
systems in
arranging its materials. The most common of these is the Library
of
Congress Classification System . This system, also known as
the LC
system, is used for most of the General Collections material
and all the
printed Reference materials. The Dewey Decimal Classification
System is used for an ever smaller number of the General Collections
material, and for the Juvenile Collection and the Harsh Room
Collection. The SuDoc Classification System is used by the
Government Documents Depository Collection.
