Trial Databases
The following resources are being
used on a trial basis. This is an evaluation period and does not
guarantee that these resources will be purchased.
Access World News - Newsbank Research Collection - current and archived news content from almost 4,000 sources. Online access to local, in-state, national and international news sources including newspapers, broadcast transcripts, newswiress, newsblogs, and web-only content and video. IP recognition is utlized for access to this product.
***To access the trial databases that use IP recognition you must go through the FHSU server to be authenticated. That means
you must either use computers on campus, use FHSU as your Internet
service provider, or go through the proxy server. Most students
accessing the databases from outside the Hays area will need to
use the proxy server. Instructions for how to use the proxy server
are available at the CTC
Help Desk. You must also activate your Scatcat
e-mail account before using the proxy server.
**When passwords are required for access, they are
sent by e-mail to faculty and students when new trials begin. If
you do not have a password please go to the reference desk and they
will help you with the password. You must bring your FHSU ID card
with you. If you telephone, please call Nona at 785-628-5262; you
will need your social security number. There will be a delay while
your status is verified, but we will contact you with a password
as soon as possible.
If you have questions or experience
problems using the database(s) please
