Emmeram was named after the famous
church builder, Father Emmeram Kausler. The community consisted
of the Sacred Heart Church and two schools. A town plot was filed
with the register of deeds in 1902, but the town never materialized.
A post office was established on January
14, 1903 and closed a year and a half later on June 30, 1904.
