Forsyth Library
The main collection at Fort Hays State University's Forsyth
Library contains more than 225,000 volumes, 700,000 government
forms, 375,000 copies of microforms, some 1,800 current periodicals
and home town newspapers. Interlibrary loan services are available.
The reference department offers a variety of on-line services and CD-ROM indices, including Academic Abstracts, Bibliographic Research Services (BRS), CINAHL, DIALOG, ERIC, MEDLINE, MLA International Bibliography, PROQUEST, PSYCLIT and SOCIOFILE.
The Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) Lab, located in the basement, offers internet and word-processing capabilities.
Automation of Forsyth Library allows access to the card catalog from the residence halls, classroom, office or home.
CTELT (Center for Teaching Excellence and Learning Technology) is located in the basement of this building. It is the university's faculty development center. The CTELT staff teaches the faculty how to incorporate technology into their courses as well as how to improve their teaching skills.
The Virtual College
coordinates the distance learning programs for the university. The
university has established and maintains an off-campus center in Garden
City. There is extensive course work offererd in Dodge City, Liberal,
Colby, and other locations in Kansas.
