Rarick Hall
Rarick Hall is named after Clarence E. Rarick, president from 1934 to 1941. It
was completed in the spring of 1981. Students take many of their general
education classes in this building.
On the main floor is FHSU's Art and Design Department
with various labs for ceramics, printmaking, graphic design, etc. The Macintosh-based
art lab is where students learn to integrate photography, video and other media
into their presentations. The art lab is part of the best graphic design school
in the state and has received many awards.
The Tiger Tots Nurtury Center,
located on the first floor, provides day care for children of faculty,
staff and students.
On the second floor are our College
of Education and Technology which contains Teacher
Education and Advanced Educational
Programs.
In addition it houses the Instructional
Resource Center which provides a lab with hardware, software,
and other resources for education majors.
Although the College of Arts and
Sciences office is on the first floor, many of its departmental
offices can be found on the third floor: English,
Modern Languages, History,
Justice Studies,
Mathematics and Computer Science,
Philosophy, Political
Science, and Sociology
and Social Work.
