Stroup Hall
Named after Leora Stroup, former Dean of our School of Nursing, Stroup Hall is
the home for the Nursing Department.
The building opened in April of 1981 and offers complete classrooms, offices and practical application for the department. The Campus Learning Laboratory contains 24 stations for student use. It is one of the most sophisticated A-V systems for a nursing department in the USA. The other portion of the Campus Learning Laboratory is a simluated hospital setting with four individual examining rooms, a surgical scrub area, a nurses' station, four patient units, and a coronary care unit. An additional feature is a research laboratory where flammable anesthetic materials can be used.
In addition, Stroup Hall is the home of the university's Internet
protocol television (IPTV) capability. From there, FHSU can broadcast
courses to 54 western Kansas communities through fiber optic cables.
