First Year Experience (FYE)

August is a new beginning……the start of classes, meeting new people, and finding a new home. At FHSU, we celebrate that new beginning as a festival of new freedoms, opportunities, and fun. Augustfest combines the significance of August “back to school” and the celebration of a fall festival through Augustfest - a series of events, activities, programs and opportunities designed to welcome and introduce you to campus life. During Augustfest, you can get involved in Tiger Impact Orientation events, first student organization meetings, and attend picnics, open houses, comedians, musicians, and more. Augustfest is all about the food, fun, and FHSU family! Check out the video below to experience the excitement of Augustfest.

Augustfest events are created by various groups, student organizations, and departments across campus to welcome YOU to FHSU. At Augustfest events, you can learn about campus, meet other new Tigers, make the adjustment to “back to school,” and get acquainted—or reacquainted—with FHSU. Augustfest is a time for the entire campus community to kick back, have some laughs and enjoy life and one another.

Augustfest events will be available in a brochure handed out during Tiger Impact, in the residence halls and various campus locations, as well as posted online. Unless otherwise noted, all events are free and are provided for all new and returning students, faculty and staff!

We invite you to take advantage of these first few weeks of Augustfest and get involved - while creating memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
