Camped away from split Mt. Can’t believe that I’m back after 8 years. So far the stops have been fun, found an entire plant at the insect stop. Tablets make writing difficult, but I’ll manage.

Day 4 of our mapping in Dinosaur. As of today Jake, Lydia and I have gone over the lower quadrant of the mapping area. So for out of 40 symbols I have 19 done and recorded in my field notebook. We went to Vernal, UT for a shower and fist food. Despite being lost in Wall-mart we got what we needed to finish our projects. Lydia and Jake bought some souvenirs from the Vernal Museum, one of which was a chipmunk finger Puppet to annoy the ones that have annoyed us. Payback’s a Witch. XD Despite our attempts for Flaming Chipmunk, they have avoided our skilled hunters. Much easier to wrote with these things now, technology is a pain sometimes. Now if only I could get the Weather on this they. T-storm is building, think I better sign oft for now. More as it develops.
I miss you all back home. Stay safe, and don’t have too much fun without me.

Our maps were turned in last morning and we spent today sleeping in. Ron let us have the day off so it was a day of sightseeing and full-contact Frisbee. Jake, Lydia and I were the first to turn our Projects in and right now we are sitting in front of our fire on our last night in Dinosaur Nat’l Monument. “I love turtles” is the phrase of the night to keep the fire at bay. As of now I have over 300 pictures to put on the blog, and the equipment is being picky. It’s late right now and the fire is getting low.

Live start mapping Ketobe Knob tomorrow. The project is more challenging than Dinosaur und the risk seems to get higher. Move the any thing I can’t wait to get back home and start planning for Grad school and finding out how I’ll pay for my last year of Undergrad school. But that’s another set of worries.

Greetings from Colorado! (Sorry for choppy writing - posting from a field tablet on a slow connection.) Had a successful day yesterday climbing from Kansas into the Rockies. Got the first aid kit at REI (after a short wild goose chase in downtown Denver). Morrison & Alameda cuts were drier than last year; enjoyed by all. Got site at Heaton Bay CG okay, started to pitch tents and the heavens opened up on us - drenching rain, thunder, lightning, and even pea-sized hail at one point. Sought refuge in the vehicles until the worst blew over. Woke up this morning cold and wet, but moderately well rested. Light snow at Frisco and Vail Pass stops this morning, but clear and warmer weather for lunch at Hanging Lake. Glorious weather at
