Join us as we celebrate Earth Science Week!
"Geoscience opens doors to opportunities for greater understanding, participation, and success in the world. This year's [Earth Science Week] theme is 'No Child Left Inside' a slogan made popular recently by an unprecedented coalation of geoscience organizations. Inspired in part by Richard Louv's Last Child in the Woods, which laments our society's 'nature-deficit' disorder, Earth Science Week encourages us all to experience Earth science firsthand."
- Geoff Camphire
This year, you're invited to join the millions of participants in all 50 states and nations worldwide who are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the first Earth Science Week. This exciting event has grown steadily in momentum and participation since the American Geological Institute held the first Earth Science Week in 1998.
- American Geological Institute
The American Geological Institute established Earth Sciences Week in 1998 to raise awareness of the geosciences and their importance to sociey. It is supported by the US Geological survey, NASA, NOAA, the National Park Service, and the AAPG Foundation.
