Website Enhancements

Grants.gov has launched website enhancements to help visitors navigate the website more efficiently to find and apply for grants with better success. Visit the Site Features and Enhancements page to review a brief summary of the enhancements.

Adobe Reader 9.0 is compatible with Grants.gov

Testing for Adobe Reader version 9.0 is complete and is now compatible with Grants.gov. The compatible versions of Adobe Reader are available to download for free on the Grants.gov website on the Download Software page. For more information on Adobe Reader please visit the updated Adobe Reader FAQ section.

Grants.gov for Mac OS X

Grants.gov, the unified clearinghouse for all federal grant opportunities, currently uses a Windows-only solution for electronic grant submission. The PureEdge viewer is required to complete grant application packages and, at this time, there is no native Macintosh PureEdge client.

IBM has acquired PureEdge, and now calls the product IBM Workplace Forms; IBM plans to add Mac support in the future and Grants.gov has committed to providing a cross-platform solution by November 2006. In the interim, Grants.gov, in conjunction with NIH, has created a Citrix server solution that allows Mac OS X users to complete their application packages using Mac OS X.

Grants.gov Prepares for New Enhancements

After a failed attempt to merge the Grants.gov and Fedgrants web sites in late October, another attempt will be made the weekend of Dec. 15, 2005. Please note that some features of Grants.gov will not be available during the merger. Federal sources state that the merger will provide Grants.gov with an improved database that will integrate the functionality and standardize terminology with Fedgrants. The Grants Office will reschedule the Grants.gov workshop after the merger has been successful and we have been able to evaluate the changes to the site.

PureEdge Viewer Software Upgrade

Grants.gov PureEdge (PE) Viewer software has been updated -- enhancing the user experience in submitting grant applications. The upgrade will install across all operating systems and browser versions currently supported by Grants.gov and PureEdge. The software will detect whether the upgrade has been installed in the Grants.gov user's program files. For more details related to the PureEdge Viewer upgrade, visit here.

Check your Spam Filters for Grants.gov Email Messages

With unwanted email messages becoming more and more prevalent, many email systems have implemented strict email junk or "spam" filters. If you are not receiving notifications or other information from Grants.gov, please periodically check your spam filters or contact your system administrator to ensure that support@grants.gov is on your list of approved email addresses.
