Research & Creative Activities
Internal Support
The Graduate School is a primary supporter
of research and creative activities at Fort Hays State University.
The university funds an annual faculty small
research grant competition, a faculty summer
salary research grant competition, and a faculty international
research travel grant fund.
The Graduate School also funds undergraduate research and creative
activities through a semesterly conference
travel program and a research supplies
and expenses mini-grant program.
A group of faculty members called the Research
Environment Committee works with the Graduate School to promote
research and creative activities each year. A primary product of
their work is the annual Research
and Creative Activity Week held on campus each spring.
The Graduate School is active in assisting faculty members with
acquiring research
grant funding from external entities. New faculty members are
encouraged to contact Leslie Paige
about how the Graduate School can assist with your research and
creative activity grant writing.
The university IRB and IACUC review committees are facilitated by
the Graduate School to comply with federal regulations. Policy manuals
for human subject and animal
research activities are available (forms
used in the IRB & IACUC review process).
The Graduate School publishes an electronic newsletter for administrators
and graduate faculty called Engagement and Discovery: News from
the Graduate School. Current available issues:
Volume 1, Issue 1 - Fall, 2007 - .doc
| .pdf
Volume 1, Issue 2 - Fall, 2007 - .doc

Research Partners
The Faculty Research Association
also works closely with the Graduate School to foster and promote
research and creative activities.
As part of the university's internationalization
initiative, the Graduate School is always looking for ways to support
FHSU faculty members who want to pursue research or creative activities
as an exchange scholar at one of the university's international
partner institutions. Contact the graduate
dean to discuss your ideas further.
