FHSU Athletic Training Education Program

Required Courses and Recommended Sequencing

Program Course Outline:
All students must complete the university general education component of 55 hours, the Athletic Training Core of 61 hours, and 8 hours of Cognate Courses.

Rentention and Progression Policy:
In order to progress in the athletic training education program all athletic training students must maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA, pass with a minimum grade all clinical skill assessments (73%) and clinical proficiencies (75%) assigned to each level of the program, complete a minimum of 150 hours of clinical experiences per practicum, provide all required yearly documentation, and complete the following courses with the noted minimum grades:

HHP 405: Assessment and Care of Musculoskeletal Conditions I with a "C" or better
HHP 407: Assessment and Care of Musculoskeletal Conditions II with a "C" or better
HHP 409: Assessment and Care of General Medical Conditions with a "C" or better
HHP 413: Therapeutic Modalities with a "C" or better
HHP 414: Therapeutic Exercise with a "C" or better
HHP 421: Athletic Training Practicum I with a "C" or better
HHP 422: Athletic Training Practicum II with a "C" or better
HHP 423: Athletic Training Practicum III with a "C" or better
HHP 424: Athletic Training Practicum IV with a "B" or better
HHP 425: Athletic Training Practicum V with a "B" or better
HHP 426: Athletic Training Practicum VI with a "B" or better
