Aerobics Instructors
Aerobics Instructors are expected to lead patrons in basic
aerobic and fitness session(s). All hired staff is expected
to look and act professionally and is responsible for purchasing
and wearing staff apparel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure patron safety
- Teach in an enthusiastic/energetic manner
- Assist director in administration of the activities in
the FHSU IM-REC department
- Dress appropriately in proper uniform
- Arrive 10 minutes early to all assignments
- Attend weekly meeting
- Basic knowledge of physical fitness
- Take roll prior to class
- Collect fees before class
- Instruct participants on aerobic exercises and toning
exercises
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Qualifications/Experience
- Certified aerobics instructor preferred
- Current FHSU student
- Prefer work study recipients
Skills
- Good people skills
- Aerobic dance
- Responsible
- In good physical condition
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Certified aerobic instructor preferred
- CPR/First Aid certifications
Physical Demands
- Meet the physical demands of teaching any aerobics session(s).
Walking, lifting and running may be involved.
Work Environment/Environmental Conditions
- Aerobic classes are generally held in the dance room (CH
122), which is air conditioned and heated. There is a stereo
system in this room.
Hours & Pay
Typically these positions range in hours from
10-20 hours per week. Because these positions are through
FHSU Work Study, the pay is minimum wage.
