WEEK FOUR---Blitzkrieg, "Sitzkrieg," & Sleeping Giants
Overview
The purpose of this week's lecture and reading assignments is to explore
more fully the period between September 1, 1939 and the early summer of
1941. Much happened of great consequence during this period that
very much shaped the conduct of the war, particularly in the European theater.
Moreover, several developments were purposefully distorted both by media
at the time and later historians to a degree that requires a rexamination
of the historical record.
