WEEK NINE---Science and Technology; Tactics and Training At War
Overview
The purpose of this week's lecture and reading assignments is to consider
the ways in World War Two hastened the pace of scientific and technological
development already underway prior to 1939. In addition, we will
assess the degree to which this process proved to be both a) a watershed
event in world history and b) a decisive aspect of World War Two.
Note: The next quiz will become available Tuesday, April
4.
Note: We will discss the final writing assignment in
class (3/28) and I will distribute a more formal version of that assignment
via the class list.
