Why did you decide to attend FHSU? When I was looking at various colleges, I found that FHSU was the most friendly, the most cost effective, and it had a great music program.

What is your favorite aspect of DSP? I love being around the brightest students on campus. They have become people that I am glad to call my friends.

How has DSP positively shaped your experience at FHSU? DSP has molded me into a leader. Had I not been in DSP, I would not have become as involved as I am and my overall college experience would not have been as positive.

What piece of advice would you give to new students? Get involved!! Classes are only a small part of the college experience. By joining organizations and being active in them, you will make many more friends and memories while here.

What five adjectives describe you best? Laid-back, faithful, musical, joyful, and sociable

Why did you decide to attend FHSU? For me, FHSU was an affordable school with the perfect program. There was no competition from another school - I knew FHSU had everything I wanted.

What is your favorite aspect of DSP? I love the connections I have made with my fellow DSP-ers. They are all great friends of mine, and I would have never met most of them if I hadn't joined DSP.

How has DSP positively shaped your experience at FHSU? DSP has given me a chance to meet important people at FHSU that students don't normally have a chance to interact with. These professors and administrators have provided us with valuable resources to make our lives in college easier and more successful.

What piece of advice would you give to new students? Get involved. It doesn't matter in what, just find a group that you belong in, and get as involved as you can. It will help you meet some great new friends, and you will be able to share your interests with a group of students just like you.

What five adjectives describe you best? Adventurous, active, leading, creative, and constructive

Why did you decide to attend FHSU? I have lived in Hays all my life, and I was familiar with the university and the strong education department from a young age. I love being close to my family (and pets!). The competitive tuition and multiple scholarship and leadership opportunities are wonderful!

What is your favorite aspect of DSP? I enjoy creating bonds with other DSPers. All of us have unique majors, and without DSP we most likely would not have gotten to know and support each other.

How has DSP positively shaped your experience at FHSU? DSP has allowed me to bring the leadership potential I have always possessed to the surface and given me the courage to take active leadership positions in several groups on campus. I have stepped outside of my comfort zone and become more acquainted with the university, faculty, and staff as well.

What piece of advice would you give to new students? In the grand scheme of life, college is a small sliver. However, it is easy to get stressed out and bogged down by school, projects and homework, work, social time, organizations, etc. Do not commit to too much. Enjoy yourself. You know how much you can handle; no one else does.

What five adjectives describe you best? Funny, organized, determined, animal-lover, and empathetic.
