State University Information Enterprise Institute serves as a university center for extending Information
Assurance* and information technology education, training, research, and consulting to Kansas and the world
beyond. The Information Enterprise Institute is a National Center for Academic Excellence in Information
Assurance in Information Assurance Education. This is an elite status awarded to university centers
based on quality of faculty, curriculum, student performance, laboratory facilities, industry, support
and other important factors.
The Information Enterprise Institute is a Kansas Board of Regents recognized center with a unique
state-wide mission and responsibility for Kansas. The Information Enterprise works with businesses,
medical providers, agencies, and other organizations globally.

*Information Assurance
(IA) –Information Assurance is comprised of measures that protect
and defend information and information systems by ensuring their availability,
integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. These
measures include providing for restoration of information systems by
incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities.
