Sunflower Broadcasting, Inc., consisting of KWCH-TV, KSCW-TV, and satellite stations KBSD-TV, KBSH-TV, KBSL-TV, is currently accepting applications for a News Reporter. KWCH is looking for a one-of-a-kind multi-platform morning reporter. You must be an aggressive go-getter that thrives on breaking news and weather, exceeds at creative storytelling, and fights to lead coverage of the BIG STORY. Yep, this isn't just any reporting job. You must live, eat, and sleep news. When you wake up in the morning you know what all the stations led with the night before and what will be the BIG STORY today. Better yet, you have at least one EXCLUSIVE story you can break today. Superb LIVE skills a must. Be prepared for mornings when you are bumping-and-running on two- or three-breakers, and be ready for many mornings when you have to get creative digging out new news. You also need to be creative enough to get live on-air and online on the occasional days you're not working with one of our skilled photojournalists. If you get an interview you'll have to know who your U.S. Senators are, what happened in Greensburg, and who was arrested on February 25th, 2005, and why that is important to Kansans. This job isn't for everyone. If you tweet once a day, Facebook only when you have time, are unsure how to use Instagram, pitch stories out of the local newspapers, or haven't used an iPhone and/or Vine to do a standup, this position MIGHT not be a good fit for you. We’re seeking someone with a minimum of 1-3 years of reporting experience. Prior experience with cameras and/or editing is a plus, as is a degree in Journalism or a related field.
