Media Studies focuses on using electronic and multimedia to communicate and to provide news and entertainment. Media Studies graduates focus on the use and movement of information in a digital environment. Media Studies provides students with unique knowledge and skills in Web and other cutting-edge communication tools such as streaming audio and video and blogs.
The program provides media convergence skills transferable to a wide variety of job and career opportunities. Media Studies graduates work in television and radio stations across the United States as electronic journalists, sports announcers, radio and video personalities, and spokespersons for government and corporate organizations. Alumni have also worked in media sales and management positions, as Web specialists, in music education, and in music recording and production.
