About Web Development

Web Development  |  About  |  Program of Study  |  Employee Portal

Web Development incorporates all areas of creating a Web site for the World Wide Web. This includes Web design (graphic design, XHTML, CSS, usability and semantics), programming, server administration, content management, marketing, testing and deployment.

Web Development mixes digital design and function to create interesting and valuable sites for clients. It also allows creative people with technical expertise to create cool, powerful tools. Unlike design programs, Web Development provides depth beyond the front end of a Web site in order to make the site interactive and dynamic. Unlike computer science and computer programming, Web Development provides an integrated program starting with the use, extending through the look and feel to powerful backend databases. The program is built on the concept of media convergence and includes electronic media such as audio and video as well as use of Web tools, software, scripting languages and databases.

The program offers a Bachelor of Science (or Arts) in Information Networking and Telecommunications with a Concentration in Web Development, a Master of Liberal Studies in Web Development, and several certificate options.
