Technical ALS Analyst

Job Description

This position is responsible for data management, and support for our Right of Way projects and clients.  Daily responsibilities involve working closely with project teams, internal users and clients to keep the projects moving smoothly by performing data entry, data manipulation, account administration, requirements gathering, reporting, testing and project support.

Initially you'll contribute significantly to our data management efforts and assist with project support.  After acquiring sufficient knowledge of our software, data model and business processes, you'll develop and maintain project support resources (processes documentation), participate in the application design process (by contributing ideas, gathering requirements, creating design documents), and executed database queries as needed.  Quality project support stems from preparation, expert knowledge, dedication to customer growth, and the ability to communicate (not just talk) effectively to all audiences.

Prior experience in the right-of-way/land acquisition industry is a plus but is not mandatory.  Our proprietary business applications utilize SQL Server 2008 and ESRI GIS software, so exposure to either of these applications is beneficial.  Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio) and Windows XP/7 is required.  A successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.  This position provides a good opportunity to learn new skills and grow into new technical or business orientated roles in a thriving industry.

Included but are not limited to:
    1.  Run reports, scan documents and manually input data into computer applications.
    2.  Import data using existing data import tools and help develop additional data import processes.
    3.  Analyze and manipulate data directly in Microsoft Excel or in SQL database using SQL queries.
    4.  Modify and create report views using Microsoft SQL Server.
    5.  Perform quality checks and maintain data accuracy on active project databases. 
    6.  Assist with business analyst activates including the creation and review of user requirements, functional designs, process flows, and application mock-ups.
    7.  Prepare and review project documents using Microsoft Word mail merge tools.
    8.  Insure software quality through functional testing and test script development.
    9.  Develop and maintain technical support resources for help document training videos, webinars, process workflow and application designs to be followed by project personnel.
    10.  Ability to work in an extremely dynamic and fast paced team environment with aggressive schedules and demanding clients.

    High School Diploma Required
    College Degree required in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline
    Right of Way or Oil and Gas experience is not required, but is a plus 
    Ability to develop and understand SQL Server database environment
    Understand the processes around application testing and following a test script
    Strong general office skills including file management
    Knowledge of oil and gas industry, land ownership documents is a plus
    Must have valid driver's license
    Must maintain minimum liability insurance in the amount of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000
    Requires excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
    Must be able to write clearly and concisely to prepare reports, specifications and correspondence
