Background:
Melissa Hunsicker Walburn is an Assistant Professor at Fort Hays State University. Prior to joining the faculty at FHSU, Dr. Walburn worked both as litigation counsel and analytical staff at Kansas Corporation Commission on utility and telecommunications regulatory issues and policy development. Dr. Walburn served the state of Kansas for two years as the Director of the Kansas 529 college savings program during Kansas State Treasurer Lynn Jenkin's administration.
A graduate of Washburn Law School, Dr. Walburn is active in the Kansas Women Attorney's Association as a district representative, and is a member of the Kansas bar. Dr. Walburn is an undergraduate alum of FHSU's Political Science program.
