Robert Pierce has been an adjunct instructor for the Department of Informatics at Fort Hays State University since the fall of 2003. He is also the Department Chair for Engineering Technology at Pensacola Junior College. Pierce teaches the foundation course for information systems security and has taught several courses at Pensacola Junior College as well as Kun Guk University in Seoul, Korea. Pierce works with the Florida State Department of Education on curriculum development and course numbering for computer science, networking and telecommunications and is the Communications Officer for the Pensacola Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol. From 1993-1995, he negotiated an international agreement between the Republic of Korea and the United States government while assigned to that country. Pierce has worked with computers since 1974 and became interested in computer networks in the early 1990’s.
Robert Pierce served in the US Army from 1976 to 1996 and returned to Pensacola, Florida upon retirement. He has been active in the field of networking since his retirement and holds several certifications and is a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor.
