Then this job is for you! KWCH-TV is looking for an organized and highly motivated person to run the night-side assignment desk. The ideal candidate will be aggressive at finding and helping to report breaking news. He/she will be connected to the community and/or willing to foster relationships that lead to news stories and tips. Experience on the assignment desk a positive, but not a must.

The Assignment Editor keeps track of news crews, listens to police scanners for breaking news information, updates the daily planner, keeps up with important court dates, answers the phones, and sorts and responds or forwards newsroom emails. Assignment Editors fill in for producers as needed.

Sunflower Broadcasting is seeking someone with 1-3 years of applicable experience, with a high school degree/GED (some college preferred). A valid driver's license is also required.

The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated and experienced news professionals responsible for delivering 47 hours of news, across a network of stations and multi-media platforms, to a 67-county DMA.
