Jack Heather

Background:

Member of 14th Army Air Corps "Flying Tigers" based in Yangkai , China ; At end of WWII, began working at the air base wireless station, where he developed his interest in radio.

1949 - Received bachelor's degree from University of Texas at El Paso
1950 - Hired by President M.C. Cunningham to develop the Radio area (and later TV and Film) at FHSU
Completed academic work in 1950 for master's degree at University of Denver , where he operated the campus radio station, KUDU
Master's degree awarded from University of Denver in 1955
1975 - Appointed Chairperson of new Kansas Association of Broadcasters Student Internship Committee
1981 - Heather Hall built
1988 - Retired from FHSU
1995 - Jack and Peggy Heather Scholarship established
