Television Studio
The Television and Video Production Studio, located in Heather Hall is home to KFHS-TV, a television station programmed and operated by FHSU INT students; which broadcasts over the local cable TV network. Students in the Media Studies program and other interested FHSU students get the opportunity to have a hands-on approach to learning and experiencing the daily operations of television studios. They may create news, sports, entertainment, documentaries and promotional pieces.
The studio houses 3 television sets. Students have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies in studio and field equipment and both linear and non-linear digital editing software. The INT Department Media Studies program at FHSU gives students the advantage of working hands-on with such equipment as soon as they enter the program; something many other educational facilities do not offer.
The FHSU INT Department offers students the chance to work with Media industry standard equipment such as:
In-Studio Cameras, IFBs, Lavalier and wireless microphones, AVID Xpress DV and Apple Final Cut Pro HD non-linear editing system, Linear Editors, Adobe After Effects, and Final Cut Pro Video Editing Systems, Digital ENG Cameras, Chromakey, Teleprompter, Complete Control Room, Pinnacle Thunder XL video server, VHS Camcorders, Remote Broadcasting Equipment, Cable TV Access, News King Electronic Newsroom software, Newsroom PC’s with Internet Access and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator software.
