INT Media Studies Student Awards Summer 2004

Taryn Everhart was one of thirty-five students awarded a National Fellowship with the International Radio and TV Society (IRTS) this summer in New York City. The Fellowship began with an extensive one-week orientation to broadcasting, cable, advertising, and new media. Following the first week, the students gained full-time "real world" experience at New York-based corporations in which each was assigned for the duration of the eight-week Fellowship. Everhart was assigned as an intern at CNN Financial News with the producers of the new show Open House. The show recently launched June 28th and it covers topics such as housing trends, mortgage rates, financing options, renovations and decorating tips.
Nate Burgess(who graduated May 2004) and Kollisa McVay have been accepted into Alpha Epsilon Rho(AERho) - the honor society within the National Broadcasting Society (NBS); Members of AERho emphasize superior scholarship and creative participation in broadcast and corporate production and activity.
Taryn Everhart, Mike Koerner, Kollisa McVay, Tyler Brack, and Jonathan Zweygardt were each awarded an academic scholarship to FHSU from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters (KAB)
