Language Requirements

All international students
must meet minimum English proficiency requirements before beginning
coursework at Fort Hays State University. For persons pursuing
undergraduate admission, please see the below scores. If you
have already satisfied this requirement and can provide an official
copy of your TOEFL, IELTS, Michigan, MELAB, Kaplan, or Language
Company score, this page does not apply to you and you need
not submit the ESL agreement with your other application materials.
However, if you have not taken the TOEFL, IELTS, Michigan, MELAB,
Kaplan, or Language Company test, or if your score falls below
the minimum requirement, your application to FHSU will not be
complete until you have submitted the ESL Agreement.

| You may be admitted to
Fort Hays State University and will be sent the form I-20 IF:
|
1. You meet all other
requirements for admission, AND
2. You either have a TOEFL score of 500 or more, or
you meet any one of the following English Language Proficiencies
as determined by one of the following standardized test scores. |

FHSU will offer
an admission for students who successfully complete the ESL
programs from the following institutions along with the
suggestion from the Center Director, and/or placed by the Placement
Services Consultant from each institution. Those ESL institutions
are:
1. University of North Texas - IELI
2. San Diego State University - ALI
3. KAPLAN International Centers
4. The Language Company Schools
5. EF International Language Schools |
