Fort
Hays State holds an annual celebration called Oktoberfest.
This is a celebration of this areas German heritage. There
is Polka music for your enjoyment and lots of great tasting
German foods. The keg tapping happens
around 10:00am which begins Oktoberfest.
There are several
booths set-up at Oktoberfest that include FHSU organizations
and the Hays community. The International Student Union
(ISU) has a booth set up at Oktoberfest. The money
that ISU raised from this event will go towards ISU activities
and events.
There is a Homecoming
parade on Saturday morning where student organizations decorate
floats or walk in the parade for Tiger Spirit. There is
a footbal game that afternoon.
ISU also participates
in the homecoming parade. A group of international usually
walk in the parade representing ISU and their own countries.
