International Studies Certificate Curriculum and Other Requirements (nine hours)

REQUIRED (3 hours)
Complete all three courses in the International Studies section
of the General Education program. (All students are required to
complete any two of the three courses listed in International Studies
in the Liberal Arts section of the General Education program. In
order to receive the International Studies Certificate, the student
would have to complete the International Studies course not taken
for General Education credit.)
ELECTIVE (6 hours)
Choose any two of the following courses, but no more than one from
the same department.

-IDS 499 Global Environmental Issues (can also be used to meet
Gen Ed requirements)
-MLNG 112 Great Works in Translation (can also be used to meet
Gen Ed requirements)
-MLNG 605 French Civilization
-MLNG 612 German Civilization
-MLNG 623 Spanish Civilization
-MLNG 624 Latin-American Civilization
-MGT 606 International Business
-MKT 606 International Marketing
-POLS 230 Introduction to International Relations (can also be
used to meet Gen Ed requirements)
-POLS 631 U.S. Foreign Policy
-POLS 632 Problems and Issues in World Politics
-POLS 640 Comparative Politics
-POLS 675 Seminar: International Law
-POLS 675 Seminar: International Political Economy

In order to earn the certificate, the student must receive at least
a “C” in each class.
Other requirements:
Public presentations by students.
Student portfolio.
Entry and exit evaluations of students.
Final paper, written either for this program or a modified version
of a paper written for a class. |
