Core Belief
Technology is dramatically impacting teaching and learning. The College of Education and Technology is committed to creating a community of learners who support continuous improvement of academic programs and the integration of technology in classroom instruction. The College embraces experimentation, innovation, and change as the means to remain relevant and vibrant in a rapidly changing world. The preparation of faculty and candidates in Integrated Technology is an essential component of College of Education & Technology’s continuous improvement model.

Mission Statement
The mission of the education unit at Fort Hays State University is : “to prepare for schools, business, and industry in a global society.” This preparation is based on technical skills, knowledge acquired through the liberal arts and Science, professional knowledge, and clinical experiences described by the Professional Educator model. Instructional programs of the unit are offered through four colleges and the Virtual College. All elementary and secondary programs leading to teacher licensure are coordinated through the College of Education and Technology.

Vision Statement
The College of Education & Technology envisions a future where all COET faculty and candidates have the opportunity to be engaged life long learners who utilize integrated technology. We support this through:

Outstanding faculty and candidate service in supporting integrated technology professional development training
Widespread incorporation of new and emerging integrated technologies as an integral component of overall service to faculty and candidates
Convenient, inviting and up-to-date facilities in the Instructional Resource Center (IRC) that meet the growing expectations of faculty and candidates for adaptability to new technologies
Supporting faculty and candidates with online integrated technology services, resources and research.
