CJET Goals

The mission of the Center for Criminal Justice Education & Training is to aid and assist the rural criminal justice infrastructure located in Fort Hays State University's primary service district of central and western Kansas. CJET serves as a catalyst for education, research, and training through products and services offered to local, regional and state criminal justice agencies in the State of Kansas.

  • Promote the Center as a stakeholder-based partnership and an educational effort to solve problems;
  • Facilitate collaborative efforts between public criminal justice agencies and Fort Hays State University;
  • Emphasize the issues of ethics and integrity;
  • Function as a team of professionals contributing to the creation and dissemination of knowledge as it relates to criminal justice education and training;
  • Serve as an informational resource for the accumulation, development, and interpretation of knowledge;
  • Stimulate and support the growth of community organizations to operate as effective partners in criminal justice efforts;
  • Support the effective, efficient, and equitable delivery of services.
